FAQs
What subjects and levels do you teach?
College math: calculus, statistics, differential equations, linear algebra, discrete mathematics
High school math: algebra, trigonometry, geometry, pre-calc, calculus, statistics, AP test prep, SAT and ACT test prep
Middle school math: pre-algebra, algebra, trigonometry, geometry, high school entrance exams
Do you bring lessons or do we work on my child’s assignments?
Since each math curriculum is unique, I like to use the student’s assignments as the guide. If he or she needs supplemental materials or a different approach, I have many types of math lessons to teach various concepts.
How long is each tutoring session?
Typically, 60 minutes is enough time to cover most concepts. Usually, students fatigue after that point and cannot learn as effectively. In some cases, such as drilling for exams, we might do a 90-minute session.
Where do we meet?
I have sessions either in person or virtually via Zoom.
If we meet in person, it’s in the convenience of your own home. In all cases, an adult must be present in the house during the tutoring session.
What geographic areas do you serve?
For virtual clients, I’m happy to work with you wherever you live.
For in-person clients, I serve the Silicon Valley area: Mountain View, Sunnyvale, Cupertino, Los Altos, and Santa Clara.
How much do you charge?
I charge an hourly rate, payable via cash, check, Zelle, or Venmo.
What is your educational background?
I have a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from University of California, Davis.
What is your day job?
